My Favorite….Poem

This is such a great poem! It reminds me of I Corinthians 11:1 – “Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ.” Here’s to living a sermon worth seeing!

I’d like to share with you my favorite poem. It is by Edgar A. Guest and is about how your actions are more important than your words. Many times we tend to think that we can impact society the most by what we say. However, what you do speaks much louder than what you say you do. Don’t talk about it; be about it.

I’d Rather See A Sermon

I’d rather see a sermon

Than hear one any day;

I’d rather one should walk with me

Than merely tell the way.

The eye’s a better pupil

And more willing than the ear,

Fine counsel is confusing,

But example’s always clear;

And the best of all preachers

Are the men who live their creeds,

For to see good put in action

Is what everybody needs.

I soon can learn to do it
