Now that my husband and I have begun saving as much money as possible to get out of debt, we are having to find ways to entertain ourselves that are either free or super cheap.
I did some math the other day (I’m not a math person, so I’m fairly certain my soul died a little bit), and I came up with this simple conclusion: thanks to interest on loans and crappy teacher salaries, we’re going to spend the rest of our mortal lives in debt.
We always talk about budgeting and always acknowledge it’s a good thing to do, and occasionally we even sit down and plan a budget… but we never stick to it.
I don’t have a lot of time to cook, so I like to cook one big meal and eat it throughout the week. One thing my husband loves to eat is spaghetti. My grandmother makes AMAZING spaghetti, and I tweaked her recipe a bit to fit my husband’s and my preferences.
While perusing Netflix one day, my husband stumbled upon a documentary about minimalism. The idea intrigued him, and he started talking to me about it.
